Lockdown with [livejournal.com profile] chloeas

Tess is tired of running. She's tired of hiding, tired of acting like the scared little girl she shouldn't be anymore. But most of all, Tess is bored.

Luckily, all that hiding and boredom has led to a plan: If she can take out the Castle's systems, then maybe she can get its residents out in the open long enough to take them out. At this point, it's worth the risk, because Tess will no longer allow herself to be hunted down and exterminated like a pest. If she's going out, she's going out fighting.

Of course, in order to put her brilliant plan into action, she needs a database. A very powerful database with very sophisticated computer equipment. Any of her Luthorcorp labs are out of the question; no doubt Checkmate is watching them and she'd never make it inside alive. But there is one place Tess can think of that no one would ever expect her to be at. So that's precisely where she goes.

Getting inside Watchtower is easy. As soon as she'd figured out Chloe was behind it, setting up a DNA cloak was child's play and it's one of the gadgets Tess actually took with her. Accessing the system puts her meager hacking skills to good use, but something catches her eye before she really starts to put her plan into action. A file on the Kandorians.

"Not on my watch," Tess mutters and then sets about purging that particular file from the system.

"We can shut them off one by one, but unless you want me to try and get through the syst-" Chloe stops talking as the Watchtower announces that one of the firewalls has been taken down from the outside, that's not part of the lockdown script.

Someone is trying to hack her and Chloe knows exactly who to blame, so she will turn around and glare at Tess, "who is working for you or who the hell sent you in here?"

Another firewall down and Chloe's jaw clenches, "how did you find me? How did you get in?" Chloe demands, "do you really expect me to believe it's a coincidence that I'm getting hacked at that exact same time you happen to make your way past my security?"

Well, Chloe can't argue with that particular argument, so she will give Tess the benefit of the doubt for the time being, "if it's not you, who is doing this?"

Chloe's face falls too and she turns around, starting to type again, "coincidentally, they are after you too and if they get through my firewalls and find our location, they hit the jackpot."

After a few more error messages she gives in, "something must have led them here, this isn't a coincidence. You must have led them here."

"C'mon, Tess, you can't possibly believe they just happened to find my database around the same time you walked through my doors."

Her jaw tightens as she starts going through the drawers in one of the desks, "I know you're bullheaded, but I didn't think you were stupid," pause as she pulls a small device from one of the drawers a second later, "did you bring anything in with you?"

Well Chloe will take the paper and scan it with the device she has in her hand anyway, bugs can be anywhere these days, "well the paper is clean, but that doesn't rule you out."

And without warning, she steps closer and starts running the device over Tess' head.

"They could have bugged you," Chloe points out, placing a hand on Tess' shoulder to turn her around, "what the hell is that anyway?"

"That paper," Chloe says simply, not at all bothered by Tess' attitude as she runs the device over the other woman's back.
