Confrontation [Facebook verse]

Tess has barely been back in Kansas when her attention gets pulled in a hundred directions at once. It isn't a while until she realizes she's forgotten one very important thing: Lena's lost barette, probably somewhere at the Kent Farm.

After a call to Clark to make certain the coast is clear, she drives over intent on making a quick search of the property and then heading back to the mansion. Naturally, it would be rude not to say hello so her first stop on arrival is the farmhouse itself, letting herself in the kitchen door.

"I didn't think those would be necessary but apparently I was wrong," Chloe isn't at all bothered by the eye roll and she's stepping forward, if everything else that was going on wasn't enough to deal with already, now she has to deal with Tess on top of it.

"Oh, shit," he mutters, following Clark as quickly as he could.

Tess steps forward as well and just for the hell of it, tosses her coat casually on the kitchen counter as if to signify she's not leaving.

"You're wrong a lot. You should probably get used to it."

"Get out of here," she's not going to bother hiding her annoyance, so she grabs Tess' coat from the other side of the counter and tosses it back at her.

She catches it but makes no move to put it on. "This isn't your house and whether you like it or not, I'm welcome here."

"Not when my son is staying here," she tells Tess one more time, "despite the fact that I hate that you're going to hurt Clark and you're just using him for whenever it's convenient for you, I can't stop him from doing something as completely stupid and disgusting as sleeping with you, but I've made it very clear to him that I don't want you and your manipulative influences anywhere near Conner."

"Yes, I know, because they might interfere with your manipulative influences." Tess is going to ignore the rest of what Chloe said and sits down on one of the breakfast stools. "Why don't you go find a computer to hack and check out the cameras you probably had reinstalled all over the farm? I know you'd feel much more comfortable with something you can program to do whatever you want without it having the audacity to question you."

"One of the several differences between the two of us is that when I give people my opinion, they know I'm doing it because I care about them and they listen to me, unlike you, I don't have to manipulate my way through every relationship I have."

Chloe walks around the counter and glares at Tess despite the fact that by sitting on one of the stools, she is towering over her even more than usual.

"I meant it when I told you to get out."

Tess just laughs. "No, you just want them to check their brains at the door instead. Too bad Oliver seems to be the only one willing to do that."

"Oh no, Tess, you're the one who expects that. Unfortunately, for some reason, Clark can't seem to break out of this bullshit cycle you pulled him into, but it's only a matter of time before he realizes how much you've heart him and sees you for who you really are."

The laughter is getting on Chloe's nerves even more and the urge to just push Tess off of her stool is rising with every word, but she resists.

"I came to see my son and I want you gone. Now."

Tess leans in, as if to impart a secret. "I hate to break it to you - well, no, I don't - but this," she gestures upstairs to where Clark's room is, "wasn't my idea. And again, this isn't your house. You're not in charge here."

"Not your idea but you're taking plenty advantage of it, of Clark's inability to pick someone who will actually be good for him."

And Tess' choice of words isn't helping, but Chloe doesn't pull away, just glares up at the other woman.

"I know what is good for him, same goes to Ollie, and I will get Clark to listen hopefully before you completely break his heart."

"Just like you knew what was best for Davis?" Tess tilts her head down at the blonde. "For Jimmy? I'm not so sure they'd agree."

Chloe's stomach clenchs at her words, at his name. If she was angry before, it just multiplied. Her hands feel shaky even as she lifts it and slaps Tess across the face as hard as she can.

"You have no idea what you're talking about! Get out now!"

Tess blinks and a lifts a hand to her cheek, but as soon as she's regained her composure, she slides off the stool, staring down at Chloe. "You want to throw down? Let's go."

"I want you out of here and out of my life, if that's what it takes..." She trails off, not stepping back, just arching her eyebrows instead. Slapping Tess made her feel better than she had in days.

She scoffs none too softly. "Please." Then without further warning, she backhands Chloe. Hard.

Her face is stinging painfully, but Chloe ignores it as a smirk appears on her face and with a deep breath, she throws all of her body weight against Tess', pushing her as hard as she can against the counter behind her.

Tess' back hits the edge hard, but she'd grabbed a hold of the other woman in the process. It's fighting instinct that makes her attempt to use the momentum to flip Chloe around - bonus points if she manages to get her on, or over, the counter itself.

Chloe gasps as she hits a knife block and sends it flying as she slides over the counter, she grabs onto the edge of it to stop herself from hitting the floor on the opposite side.

She manages to grab one of the cookbooks behind her back, however and aims for Tess' head, swinging it in her direction.

Tess blocks the book with her forearm and uses her other hand to push Chloe further along - or off - the counter. And those knives are starting to look mighty convenient.

Clark hears the commotion and rushes inside. Yelling over at Oliver to grab Chloe, Clark puts his arms around Tess's waist and hauls her up, not caring if she's kicking and trying to get away. His goal is to stop the fight and move her as far away from Chloe as he can so they can talk about this.

Chloe feels the shove and next thing she knows, she's sliding off the counter and toward the floor in the same direction the knives just fell and even as she tries to stop herself from falling, she can't find anything to reach for now that Tess' hair is no longer close enough.

Oliver moves quickly at Clark's shout and he manages to catch Chloe just before she hits the ground, his arms winding securely around her waist and holding on. He pulls her away from the counter, moving them back toward the back door.

Oh, Tess is kicking all right but deep down she knows there's no getting out of this grip. That doesn't mean she won't keep trying.

"Clark, let me go."
