Consequences with [livejournal.com profile] kneel_majorzod & <lj site="livejournal.com" use

It's not unusual for Tess to be entertaining a guest. It's really not unusual for that guest to be Zod. What isn't the norm is that he's not the only person she's expecting.

It's time, they've decided, to put their plan into action, to attempt to rid themselves of one of the nuisances in their lives. Darkseid has been summoned to the mansion on the pretext of potentially another adventure or evening of games. Security has been told to notify Tess when he arrives and everything else is in place for what's really going to take place. Or so she - and Zod - hope.

So until he does make his presence known, they'll just have to wait. One way or another, it's going to be an interesting evening.

He frowns a bit at that. "I'll look into it," he tells her distractedly after a short pause, stepping forward to set what remains of his glass of water aside.

Then he turns and studies her for a long moment before speaking again softly. "Thank you."

Zod nods as well, though still a bit distractedly. He feels...different. It's a feeling he remembers quite well, actually, though he's only felt it once before. But he decides it's best not to mention it. At least, not until he's had a chance to see for himself. Which he is in a bit of a hurry to go and do.

"Of course," he replies quickly, clearing his throat and giving her another glance over. "Be safe, Tess. Call if you need us. And we can finish that talk whenever you'd like."

"No," he says without hesitation. "You hold onto it in case he decides to come back."

"I don't think you should take that chance," Zod replies softly, watching her perhaps with concern. "His actions have made it fairly clear that he's the enemy. And he should be treated as such."

"Still, I think it's time to make more of a distinction." He's still studying her very seriously, and he takes a step toward her. "If he comes back, you shouldn't extend your hospitality. It puts you in too great a danger."

Zod sighs softly at that and averts his gaze. "I don't know. But if he suddenly decides to go on the offensive, you're left vulnerable."

He just watches her for another moment and then shrugs half-heartedly and turns away. "Just be safe. And do keep me informed." There's more to discuss, but he knows this isn't the time or place. Besides, it seems he has other matters of importance to attend to.

"Oh, I won't be extending my hospitality, I assure you," he replies darkly as he makes his way to the door as well and then toward the exit.
