Tess has had a busy morning. There were business reports to initial and fax back to the office and instructions to be sent to the lab for today's work schedule, as well as making sure her assistant was clear on what did and didn't constitute a journalistic emergency to bother her with. Then there was a light workout and breakfast before finally preparing for the day's actual activity.

By the time the Major arrives, she'll be in her usual home office rifling through a small knapsack, although she doesn't quite look the part of Tess Mercer today, as he knows her. She's dressed considerably down in jeans, hiking boots and a plain t-shirt, with her hair swept back in a slightly messy ponytail. Clearly, fashion is not an issue today.

He will, however, also find her in relatively good spirits. She always was a bit of a morning person.
