OOC - Operation: Flail

Okay, so OMG TESS IS A CHECKMATE AGENT. I am a total SV spoiler hound and I did not see this coming even a mile away, it never entered my mind which is now blown.

What does this mean for RP? Am I incorporating it? Hell yes. Do I have any clue where this is headed canonically? Not a one. In other words, I'm going to be flying by the seat of my pants here, but that's okay, really, because it's not like Tess is going to be telling anyone anytime soon. But just so people know, yeah. Checkmate.

Now the important part: Flailing. Tess has to part of the White side, because as much as she can take care of herself, she's not ops. So I'm thinking to myself, where does that place her? Waller is the Queen, of course, so my immediate thought was that Tess would be her Bishop, ie, second in command because I'm biased that way. But taking the dialogue into account, it seems like Tess has been off-grid for some time and that Waller is just now bringing her back into the fold. Not something the Bishop would be allowed to do. And in looking into their hierarchy and duties, providing SV decides to adhere to it she's really most suited to being a Knight - one of several "field agents" - who would only be called upon when required, as it appears Tess has been.

Which brings me all down to this, as I'm someone who really gets into the heads of my main characters: Tess is quite possibly a White Knight. The little girl who wanted nothing more than a knight in shining armour to rescue her might be a White Knight in her own right.

Oh, show. Why do you do this to me?

Seriously, that kind of completely blew my mind too. It's awesome and I'm glad you're using it. I didn't see it coming at all.

Now if only Chloe gets a job with Checkmate too and they have to work together... ()=)

Well, I think it's pretty clear that Waller has to be taken down because no way can they afford to keep her even recurring in S10. At this point? I can see Tess actually working toward that if she's decided Checkmate isn't her priority anymore, or doesn't agree with their politics. Unfortunately, that's all stuff canon is going to have to tell me later. Damn them.

But basically? I do think Chloe will take over as White Queen, with Tess likely bowing out completely.

Yeah, I honestly have no clue what canon is planning to do with this Checkmate stuff at this point.

Honestly, all I know is that Chloe will be pissed when she finds out she was actually wrong about Tess, and if she does become White Queen, then I hope she gets to boss Tess around at least a little bit.

Well, Tess has always been inclined to believe what she chooses, hasn't she? Why would she release Zod from the Orb if she was just going to end up hunting him down with Checkpoint? In my personal opinion, Tess could very well be a double agent of some sort.

Plus, since we've already taken huge AU steps in the Twitter verse involving Zod and Tess working together (given the tower and everything), it wouldn't make sense for her to suddenly start vehemently working against him. At least not in that verse.

But that's just my biased take on it. :P

At the moment I'm actually of the opinion that Tess isn't going to necessarily be on Checkmate's side, especially since she wasn't even aware aliens existed in Instinct last season. I think she's been off-grid long enough that yes, she's developed her own agenda, but again, I know absolutely nothing about how canon is going to handle this. I knew Waller was coming in, I've suspected that they'll write Chloe out by taking the agency over as the new White Queen, but Tess being an actual part of the agency has thrown me for a bit of a loop, to be honest.

So! That's kind of where my head is at on it Twitter!verse wise, but then, you never really know with Tess, do you? If he somehow 'fails' her, she's got a few other things up her sleeve he doesn't know about. :)

Ah, yes, cool. That's what I'm thinking as well. But yeah, Zod is going to be have a rough time if he fails her at this point. Poor Zod. He's such an innocent, cuddly little teddy bear. Don't you feel sorry for him? :)
