Confrontation [Facebook verse]

Tess has barely been back in Kansas when her attention gets pulled in a hundred directions at once. It isn't a while until she realizes she's forgotten one very important thing: Lena's lost barette, probably somewhere at the Kent Farm.

After a call to Clark to make certain the coast is clear, she drives over intent on making a quick search of the property and then heading back to the mansion. Naturally, it would be rude not to say hello so her first stop on arrival is the farmhouse itself, letting herself in the kitchen door.

It's Clark's turn to glare at Chloe. "Do you really trust me so little?"

Chloe ignores Tess, she had been able to tell that Conner wasn't there or he would have come running when she first called him.

"I'm not you." She tells Clark, her jaw clenching once more as she pulls herself away from Ollie's grip and makes her way to the door.

Oliver takes a deep breath as he watches her head to the door, then he looks back at Clark, shaking his head a little.

"It's been a long few days, just..." He turns and follows her, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Then put her on a leash," Tess calls after him. Then she leans back against Clark and sighs. "Will you let go of me now?"

"That wasn't necessary," Clark says after she makes the comment to Oliver. "And I'll let you go if you promise not to go after them."

Chloe lets the door close behind her with a bang, her hands are still shaking as she walks outside, wishing she could have caused more damage to the other woman.

So much for a trip to Smallville helping to get her mind off things, he thought with a sigh, following her toward the car silently.

"Getting physically attacked wasn't necessary, either," she points out angrily. "I'm not going after her."

Clark slowly releases his grip on Tess. "What did you say to her?" He's not accusing her; he just wants to know what happened.

Tess takes in a deep breath and leans on the counter, hands braced on either side. "I've said worse."

"What did you say this time?" He retrieves some ice from the freezer for her face and starts to put everything back in its place.

Tess shakes her head and rolls her shoulder. "That this wasn't her house and she couldn't tell me to get out and that she doesn't, in fact, know what's best for everyone."
